This woman should've never been given probation in the first place. She needs to be put away before other couples fall for her scheme. How cold hearted to be lying like that and be playing around with a couples' desire to have a child.

There is no federal probation (per say) and certainly no federal judge is going to let her go. Primarily because the guidelines are going to require her to serve time and she deserves it.

For over four years now, my husband and I have been trying to adopt a child since we cannot have children of our own. When I heard about this woman a year ago, I was infuriated and reading this today, I am beyond angry. Her actions are incredibly selfish and I sincerely hope she receives punishment so sever that she wishes she were never born. What a sorry excuse for a human being!

I feel sorry for those people that she shafted (that's only IF they were willing to love and care for the baby and not "use" the baby for anything else--this world is insane). Although I feel bad for the victims of this scam, that is exactly what it is a "SCAM" to make money via internet, mail or phone. This type of crime has been around for years and years. When are people going to "get it" and not respond to these so called fast and easy ways of making money, winning a prize or even adotping a baby.

First of all - looks have nothing to do with it. I have seen beautiful parents produce homely looking children and I have seen some average looking parents produce beautiful children. Beauty is only skin deep and it is what is on the inside that counts. With that aside, this woman is UGLY on the inside. She has no heart, she is playing with peoples lives, and she should have been locked up the last time.
Sweetie, my cousin is adopted and he was blessed to be adopted by two loving parents. In his late twenties he met his biological parents, his dad, a wonderful well know business man - whom he sees on a occassional basis now, and his mom, a woman who had never told her family of the birth and giving up of a child so many years ago. He spoke with her only once and she asked that he not contact her again as she didn't want her husband and children to know.
If you can't have children of your own there is nothing wrong with adoption - especially if you can adopt a child of someone who knows someone who knows someone. That sometimes works best, but I have seen friends adopt children from Russia, China, and other foreign countries and the Russian children are beautiful. And I am sure you and your hubby are very deserving of a child to love and I am even more sure that there is a deserving child out there that would love to have you as a mom. I'm in my late 30's and he is in his early 40's. He already has 4 children, so a child that I have carried and given birth to would be a blessing, but if it doesn't happen we are still blessed with his 4 kids...
We haven't complete ruled out adoption, it's just the very last thing on our list...

Four adopted, one biological - not a difference amongst them - Kid's is Kids! Funny thing is that, despite having come out of five different "litters," you'd never know it looking at and listening to them when we get together for holidays & special events.
"Accident of Birth" is another way of saying God gave them the gift of a Birthday.... Now it's up to the rest of us....

Sweetie - if you go for adoption - just don't be gullible. It is hard to believe that in this day and age, people are paying money to help out the "birth mother" without ever having met her or without any their own chosen doctors doing a medical review. You're way smarter than some of those who have been scammed. Risks, yes, but as yellowdog puts it "pound rescue myself" - one that would be greatly appreciated by the child should you find one. Good luck whatever you decide.

What Belinda did was wrong, but she wasn't the only one; it's illegal for any prospective adoptive parent to give any prospective birthparent in Texas money or gifts of value. The limo drive was obviously inducement to place, and that is also against the law. No doubt Belinda will be the only one charged, since she can't afford the high-dollar attorneys these out-of-state couples had advising them how to farm Texas for babies in the first place! but in truth, attempting to buy a child is as depraved as attempting to sell one-- even moreso when a real child is involved!
